Clear updates, happier users: Release notes as a sales tool
The challenge: release notes were not published with regularity, and lacked organization or collection. The team wasn’t sure of the value of release notes–only that they knew they were something that should be published.
The solution: Gather release notes and organize them in a way that clients and potential customers could quickly see the latest, but also how many there had been over the product’s life, since customers like to know that products are continually improved upon.
My approach: Release notes should be relevant, easy to understand, and oriented toward keeping customers updated as to product improvements.
No matter what your release cycle is, I have a creative plan and strategy for organizing, coordinating with teams, writing appropriate public-facing material, and publishing them.
